Today we decided to go for a ride up to San José de los Llanos. Two dokas and a T1 kombi went up the steepy narrow roads till we arrived & had a pic-nic. Nice time with friends and relatives, bad weather but incredible ride!!!
These are three nice views of El Caletón in the North of Tenerife Island. A fishermen´s refuge with a nice & narrow road down to the sea on a very sloppy hill full of rare plants and worth seeing. A nice drive alone or in good company!!
Some old pics from Puerto de la Cruz. First the view of the fishers beach in front of "El Charco" Square... (late 50s). The boats are on-land after coming back full of fresh fish.
And older one with some temporary wooden huts installed by the sea-shore in Martianez beach in the 40s. At the back we can see the Tahoro Hill with the First Hotel. Nowadays the space between both locations is full of hotels, apartments and blocks of flats...the huts no longer exist, the Mercedes Ponton maybe..who knows!
The old bus stop at El Charco Square in the early 60s. Those buses had a wooden body and its original colours were olive green down and white for the roof.
A few pictures can express better our feelings towards a vehicle that has become part of our lives. If I were a surfer, and my bus were impossible to restore, I would rather prefer her to be by the sea for the rest of her time than lying on a junkyard....
