MISSING!!!

THE PALMERA DOKA
This week I went to don Jose´s workshop to adjust valves and change the ignition of my doka. I had the chance to see the repairings in this twin-to-my doka bought and brought from la Palma island and thanks God saved from the junkyard fate!
A generous cleaning after some years stopped in a garage. Some major repairings had to be done: rebuilt the engine, adjust steering box and change ball joints in the front axle..
Here we can see the new cylinder heads, a new fuel pump and some other parts replaced in the block...
Only some rust in specific points: cabin steps, B post sides and some under floor sections, but nothing serious...
We´re glad to know she will be riding for many many years to come now she is in good hands...congratulations!! Sorry for the bad quality pics, but my mobile did its best!

KAT BEACH PARTY EXTRA PICS
Cruising to the south of the island...the Katastrophenwagen leading the way, Elio in the sedan with the Eriba caravan following him and two more, including Daniel´s wagen who came from Gran Canaria just to have party with us....That´s a friend!!!

Here our president, El_Gofio, the man, facing the future with his feet deep in the sand, the sea ahead and the sun setting to party all night long!!! What a hangover he had!
Edward surprised us with these nice hand-made curtains in his kombi. The ideal gadget to keep the sun out while sleeping. All models were included in the design, from T1 to T2, and brasilian kombi...

KAT BEACH PARTY....
Last Saturday the KAT members and their rides gathered at Santa Cruz´s Maritime Park and then we set off to the south!! To the beach !!
It was a hard day´s night! The best beach party ever! More pics soon.
15 different vehicles from T1 kombi to dokas, sedans, cabrios, type 3 or Eriva caravans
Just after this nice sunset the best part of the party began...up to 4:00 in the morning!!! Wonderful meals, beers, rum, music, beach, ladies...what else can you ask for??

As seen at the Autostadt Museum in Wolfsburg. It´s not Rosso Ferrari, but impress as well!!
It´s increible how the KDF turned out to be something so nice coming from such strange prototypes! As it is well known, the red and grey prototypes are not original cars but present vehicles made up from the photos and original plans preserved at the factory.

No bumpers, suicide doors, smallest rear window, too long, no semaphores... it´s so ugly that is beautiful! This reproduction of the first KDF prototype is in the Autostadt Museum in Wolfsburg, a must to visit if you feel aircolled-powered!

NEW OLD DOKA IN TOWN!!!
This is the "new" Doka I´ve seen today at a meeting. We haven´t heard about her as she has been kept lovely attended in her garage for so many years. Now she´s out again we´´l meet her many more times. Not many T2a on the road these days...

Original 1500 cc single admission engine cleaned, painted and working perfectly since the 1st day without troubles.
Incredible well finished upholstery and door panels, shinning dashboard...
Passengers area clean & tidy!!
Open vents windows in passengers door and panel, and they work!!!
The only refurbished section is the cargo bed, replaced by non original body panels but with brand new wooden slats.
A good example of a well done restoration using as many oroginal parts as possible. Nice to see her again on the road on such a good shape!
